In the time of Purim, in the days of old,
A wicked, cruel plan began to unfold.
The king’s advisor, Haman, wanted to kill tne Jews;
It was in the headlines of Shushan’s Daily News.
But Esther, a Jewess, married the king,
And she wouldn’t hear of such a terrible thing.
Esther invited the king and his whole brood
To a grand party with some royal food.
Esther outsmarted the evil man,
She also destroyed his terrible plan.
The king gave her uncle, Mordechai,
His own royal seal to make the laws apply.
We celebrate this great day
By giving tzedakah, and the megillah we say.
