Tu B’Shvat Poem

by Lytal Lerer & Chaya Duboff

When Tu B’Shvat comes around,
We plant trees in the ground.

It’s very fun to ruin your shirt,
While you are digging in the dirt.

The fruits of Israel we do eat,
It’s a real Tu B’Shvat treat!

Everyone thanks the trees for their fruits,
Then we take our gloves and bring our boots.

We laugh, play and sit in the shade,
And watch the adults clean up the mess we made.

Hey, look, we have something new:
The Tu B’Shvat cleaning crew!

Lytal Lerer and Chaya Duboff are in 5th grade at The Academy (Hillel).
